Carolyn is a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant and yoga instructor in Denver, CO. She specializes in weddings, funerals, and healing ceremonies. She received her 200 hour yoga certification from Faith Hunter in Washington DC.
In college, Carolyn studied other cultures, traveled, and discovered yoga. Her relationship with yoga became more serious while working on a development project for over 18 months in Afghanistan. Yoga and meditation became a way to deal with high levels of stress, panic attacks, and upon returning home, for dealing with depression and PTSD. The desire to share the gift of yoga with others led her to teacher training. She has specialized training in teaching yoga to victims of trauma and therapeutic yoga.
Celebrant work was a natural fit with Carolyn’s graduate studies in anthropology and international health. She believes in the power of ceremony to ease life transitions and bring meaning to life’s events– even happy ones. Her vision is to combine the transformative powers of ceremonies and rituals with yoga, for a profound embodied experience.
In addition to teaching yoga and conducting ceremonies, Carolyn worked in consulting for over 10 years. She is a certified Project Management Professional.
In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys exploring, attempting to ski, camp, and climb mountains.
What is a Life-Cycle Celebrant?
Life-Cycle Celebrants are trained and certified by the Celebrant Foundation & Institute. The Celebrant Foundation & Institute provides training on the theory and structure of rituals and specific training for different types of rituals. Celebrants create and perform personalized ceremonies that are based on the clients’ beliefs, philosophy, and needs. Ceremonies are co-created in a collaborative process with the honoree.
